GAINESBORO’S “EVERYTHING” STORE
The businesses in the town of Gainesboro may be few, but the ones here do have a great deal to offer our community. One of our established businesses offering a lot of new and exciting things is PAPPY’S PICKET FENCE located on the square. It has evolved into so much more than just an antique store that it started as several years ago.
The store has an abundance of antiques and fine collectibles, one-of-a- kind treasures from days gone by, and hard to find items. There are over 30 individual booths in the store at this time and more on the way. The store has a large collection of gift items for all occasions . The store carries new designer handbags, new clothes, angels, crystal, jewelry, and small gift items. There are also specialty items that can’t be found elsewhere: Graham’s pottery, Juanita’s hand-made scarves, Anita’s “Linen Closet,” Gail’s “Unique Gifts Shop,” Jackson’s Glass, Charlene’s Purses, Blue Heron Studios, Secret Garden Antiques, Le Petit Boudoir #2 , , Ellen’s Memories, The Gourd Lady, Hunter’s Antiques, The Lollipop Shop, Pappy’s Antiques, Carol’s Crystal, Ann’s Fiesta, “Oh Baby Children’s Clothes,” Bruno’s Boots, “Collectible Dolls,” Ditto’s Folk Signs, Antique Radio's, Carol's hand made purses and aprons. And now we have The Back Room Thrift Store.
There are one-of-a-kind items that can not be found elsewhere. The dealers are constantly bringing in new items daily so there is a constant change and one never knows what they will find. Right now the store has a special Back Room Sale going on. Everything in this area is major reduced in price. From Country Primitive to Ultra Modern, there is enough variety to capture everyone’s taste.
Yes, there are antiques, but there are so much more. It could be called Gainesboro’s “NEWEST OLD STORE.” Many people look to this store as their first place when they need a gift or want to find something different for that “special person who has everything.”
The store hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Store owner, Sheryl Bruno welcomes everyone to come in and see for themselves just what is there. She says she hears the comment often from people who come in for the first time, “I am amazed at all the wonderful things in this store. There is so much variety.”
